WAHALA!! ‘Students Now Drug Invigilators With Dangerous Chemical To Use Expo’ – WAEC Reveals

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has decried the rate of examination malpractice among students, adding that students now drug invigilators using dangerous chemicals.

The council’s Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, who stated this, yesterday, during a press briefing at WAEC International Centre, Lagos, proposed international summit on examination malpractices for October 19 and 20.

He berated the dimension examination malpractices were taking on the continent of Africa and particularly in Nigeria.
He said: “In some cases, and particularly during private examinations, candidates now go to centres fully armed with guns and other weapons. For the public examinations, there are centres, and especially private schools, where invigilators are drugged to pave way for them to engage in exam malpractices.”

According to him, while private candidates now go to examination centres with guns and other weapons, some private schools in connivance with the candidates, are now in the habit of drugging invigilators using dangerous chemicals.

He said:“Waging war against examination malpractices has become very expensive and more difficult, particularly with the advent of social media.

“The most notorious challenge facing examining bodies and other educational institutions in WAEC member-countries is examination malpractice.

“Currently, the malaise has assumed dangerous and criminal dimensions on the heels of some advancements in technology, which created the smartphones, social media, among others.

“The council, in the five member countries, has introduced several measures, adopted various strategies and deployed technologies at great costs in the fight against the ever-festering menace.”

“Misguided candidates and their adult collaborators, sometimes including school authorities, teachers, parents and, most recently, operators of rogue websites, have continued to devise ingenious and sophisticated methods of cheating, leading to an exponential increase in reported cases of fraud in public examinations.”

Don Williams dies at 78

Country music star and Hall of Fame member, Don Williams, has passed away at the age of 78.
Williams reportedly died after a short illness.
The Tulsa Time singer played his final tour in 2006 and in 2010 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In 1991, every single he released hit the Top 40 Billboard County charts.

He returned to the spotlight in 2012 with a new album, And So It Goes, and in 2014 with Reflections, which included contributions from stars Keith Urban, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.

American singer-songwriter, Shooter Jennings took to Twitter, after news of Don’s death broke to pay tribute.

He wrote: “Sad about Don Williams but Troy Gentry was my friend. I had great times with him. I’m stunned, angry and upset at the moment. I’ll miss you.”

Country music star Travis Tritt also paid tribute.

“So sad to hear that “Gentle Giant” Don Williams has died! What an incredible legacy of great music he leaves behind. May he RIP,” he tweeted.

Another Serious Beef! Is It Okay For P’square To Split & Go Their Separate Way This Time Around? [Must Read]

If blood is thicker than water, then a music group bound together by blood should be united like no other!

In what seems like a remix of their previous beef in 2015, Nigeria’s leading music group P’square is back again with brand new rift after throwing subtle jabs at each other on social media.
The sign that all is not going well in the Psquare camp was first observed when Psquare’s Paul Okoye confirmed to a fan that their American tour has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, social media exchange between the twins a few days back on Instagram is another obvious evidence that Psquare brothers are about to experience a second crisis in two years.
It all started when Paul posted a message of warning to a lady believed to be Peter’s wife on Instagram, accusing her of making efforts to disrupt the peace between himself and his brother.

Paul wrote:-
“Back to Naija. Don’t take my silence for granted…only a woman can come where brothers are working in peace and destroy it.”

In response to his brother, Peter also wrote:-
“People who can’t stand to see the success of others will never experience their own.”

However, Peter’s wife, Lola who was also the bone of contention in their previous quarrel broke her silence in a subtle shade directed at Paul Okoye saying, “Hate has no place in her own world“.

You will recall that this was how it started in 2015 which led to a temporary break up when they both went solo as “Rude Boy” and “Mr P” respectively. At that time someone had to “Call Heaven” before they could reunite again.

From the look of things, it appears that Psquare brothers may be heading towards th
eir final break up this year. This time the heavens may not even intervene.
...............................................................................................................................................
But the question is what could be the true cause of their unending rift?
As Psquare are no longer UNITED, who is the POGBA in their Midfield?
...............................................................................................................................................
Apparently, their years together as P’square has been fruitful and immensely profitable in terms fame, money and other achievements.

Now that their unity as a music group is under serious threat of a breakup, is it okay for them to go solo?
Well, maybe they should just embrace new beginning and start as an upcoming artiste again.

We are sure by the time they do it for 6 months and they don’t get the needed attention they enjoyed as Psquare, at that point they will both appreciate what it means for Peter and Paul to be ONE and not TWO.

Nigerian Govt Begs TB Joshua Not To Relocate To Israel

he federal government through the Minister Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday appealed the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua (TB Joshua) to reconsider his decision to relocate from Nigeria, DailyPost reports.

He said the such move will not be in the best of the country. TB Joshua on Sunday announced that he would relocate from Nigeria to Israel due to “hostile environment”.

He said,

“This is the most persecuted ministry in the world. Who are the people persecuting the ministry? My people, Africa. “That is why I choose to live a lonely life. If you want to see me, come to this church. I don’t go out. It has not been easy – because I don’t know who is a friend or who is an enemy.

“If you learn TB Joshua is not around, I am in a revival. I live in the church here. I don’t have a house outside.” “What happened to me from the beginning of my ministry is enough to chase me out of this country.

“But I am still in your midst. Upon the persecution and hatred, I decided to follow the path of love. You show hatred; I show love. “When I go for a revival, you will see the stadium full but I am not carried away by that. I leave where I’m celebrated to live where I’m persecuted.”

But Mohammed in a chat with journalists during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) in Lagos, described Joshua’s decision as unfortunate.

Mohammed called for dialogue between the pastor and the authorities over whatever challenges he was facing. His words: “That will be very unfortunate in the sense that if he does move out, it will affect our tourism in Nigeria.

“Pastor Joshua is an important person, he must bear with us. This is his country; if he moves out and go to South Africa, for example, the revenue will go to South Africa.

“It is better that Pastor Joshua sits down with the relevant authority and resolve whatever problem he has. If I have access to him, this is exactly what I am going to tell him.”

BREAKING: I’m Leaving Nigeria, And Relocating To Another Country – TB Joshua

In a bombshell announcement that shocked congregants and viewers of Emmanuel TV alike, Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua declared his intentions to leave Nigeria and relocate his ministry to the nation of Israel.

Speaking to a rapt multi-national audience at his church service on Sunday 30th April 2017, Joshua disclosed that he had just returned from the ‘Holy Land’ after holding meetings with three prominent Israeli mayors of Jerusalem, Tiberias and the Jordan Valley.

According to the cleric, they offered both land and facilities in an area around the biblical site of the Sea of Galilee for the Nigerian Pastor to organise meetings for international pilgrims.

“This is the most persecuted ministry in the world. Who are the people persecuting the ministry? My people, Africa,” Joshua bluntly stated, adding that this ‘treatment’ had led him into a life of virtual isolation.

“That is why I choose to live a lonely life. If you want to see me, come to this church. I don’t go out. It has not been easy – because I don’t know who is a friend or who is an enemy. If you learn T.B. Joshua is not around, I am in a revival. I live in the church here. I don’t have a house outside.”

“Anytime you pray, remember Africa in prayer,” the cleric solemnly continued to an audience which included over 3,000 foreign nationals who flew into Nigeria to attend the church service.

“Many heroes and great people have been chased out of Africa. There are many geniuses in the Western world who are originally from Africa.”

The cleric pointed to the example of heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua who was allegedly turned down by Nigerian sporting authorities when he wanted to represent the country.
“What happened to me from the beginning of my ministry is enough to chase me out of this country – but I am still in your midst. Upon the persecution and hatred – I decided to follow the path of love. You show hatred; I show love. When I go for a revival, you will see the stadium full but I am not carried away by that. I leave where I’m celebrated to live where I’m persecuted.”
The cleric then advised congregants: “Where you are not celebrated is the best place to stay, to get strength. When you are in the midst of a battle, you are building yourself. That is why I decided to stay where I am not celebrated here in Nigeria. When the grace of God is amid challenges, it gets stronger.”

According to the cleric, the invitation to Israel came due to the growing popularity of Joshua’s television channel Emmanuel TV, which is especially known on YouTube.

“Your life can preach a better sermon than your mouth,” he exhorted the congregation, stating that the Israeli officials had observed his ministry from afar before inviting him.

No timeframe for the move was specified in the service and it was not clear whether activities in The SCOAN’s Ikotun-Egbe base would cease entirely.

Joshua concluded by counselling people: “Don’t destroy your relationships beyond repair because the person who fights you today can be your saviour tomorrow.”

The shock announcement will come as a blow to Nigeria’s religious tourism industry.

Statistics from the Nigerian Immigration Services revealed that six out of every ten travelers to Nigeria go to The SCOAN, with countless local businesses and hotels in the area relying on the church activities for their sustenance.

College Of Education Yobe Shuts Down Over Unpaid Allowances (Read)

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State Chapter has embarked on an indefinite strike over the non -payment of outstanding allowances and other demands from the College Management.

It was gathered that the union members ’ agitations led to the disruption of academic activities at the institution and sent the Students out of the campus.

Speaking with DAILY POST on the matter, the COEASU branch Chairman, Comrade Muntari Sa’ad said that the College management had refused to honour an agreement reached with the Union sometimes back.

According to him , the agreement reached with the unions hinged on the payment of Peculiar Academic Allowance (PAA) among others.

He said that the academic staff of the college were been overworked yet their welfare had been thrown to the dust.

Comrade Sa’ad explained that the unions initially embarked on a warning strike in 2016 .

He said , “ The strike began today based on some unattended agitations of the union. By tradition , the College management has been recalcitrant to the agitations of our members.

“The management finds it difficult to honour the demands of the Academic Staff of the College.

” Let me inform you that our Provost is using intimidation and even blackmail to silence every one. He succeeded in silencing the entire management team, however we resisted all forms of techniques employed by the provost. The Congress is witnessing the collapse of the college before our very eyes.

“During the Congress meeting I pointed out to all COEASU members that “the limits of tyrants are prescribed by those whom they oppress. ”

“Therefore, we ask the union member to take their destiny in their hands and to blow their own trumpet so that they could be heard, otherwise nobody will blow it for them, and their refusal to blow it will be tantamount to suffering in silence.”

A vote of no confidence letter written to the Education Minister, Adamu Adamu by the Union, dated 27th March, 2017 reads: “COEASU Congress meeting held today Monday, 27th March 2017, the COEASU Congress FCE (T), Potiskum has mandated the COEASU Executives to write and inform you that:”

“Today’s Congress meeting emanated from another emergency COEASU Congress meeting held on Thursday 23rd March, 2017 in which COEASU wrote a letter to your office”.

” A motion was moved by a Congress Member to pass a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the College Provost and it was seconded by two Congress Members and there was no counter motion. Attached with this letter are attendance sheets for the meeting.

“The contending issues listed in this letter were the same lingering issues that bedevilled the College and there were three mediations which took place at the instant of the Executive Secretary NCCE between the COEASU Executives and the College Management yet all the agreement reached as a result of the three mediations were not respected by the College Management.”

The Provost of the college, Madu Muhammad declined to comment more on the matter. He said, ” For now, I think I should not talk, let’s wait and see.

HOSPITALS FOR HUMANITY KICKS OFF 1K1M CAPAIAGN TO SAVE CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE

Congenital Heart Defects are very common and critical birth defects, however survival and life expectancy of individuals with congenital heart disease have significantly increased with earlier diagnosis, improved surgical interventions and better medical management.

Every year, an estimated 85,000 children are born with congenital heart defects in Nigeria, all are currently referred out of the country for surgeries. A high proportion of children with surgically amenable congenital heart disease will require life-saving, invasive intervention to help improve their quality of life significantly. It is estimated that compared to their peers, the medical costs for individuals with congenital heart disease are 10 to 20 times greater funds most of these family cannot afford.

To this end, Hospitals for Humanity (HfH) an Atlanta based NGO, duly registered both in the US & Nigeria, has in the last two years conducted 49 paediatric cardiothoracic surgeries via its Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Initiative (PCTSI) and in Nigeria, made up of a world class team, providing care and services comparable to any first class institution while building capacities of local staff and fostering knowledge transfer.

Currently HfH has a patient list of over a 1000 patients, 200 of who URGENTLY need surgeries, having exhausted its funds in the largely pro bono efforts of the last two years, HfH seeks to raise funds via its 1K1M fundraising campaign to continue carrying out these surgeries for the needing children.

The 1K1M campaign seeks to raise funds from one million individuals who will give at least N1,000 each towards carrying out open-heart surgeries for 200 children with congenital heart defects.

Taking off in January 2017 and running throughout the year, the campaign will involve as many activities as possible all aimed at raising funds for this cause.

On board as proud partners and sponsors are Daar Communications, BellaNaija to mention a few.

Saraki made the remark while briefing the Senate on the recent trip by the leadership of the National Assembly to the UK, where they met with Buhari.

Speaking after he read pending letters to the Senate from Buhari on the extension of his vacation, as well as letters from the acting President Yemi Osinbajo requesting the confirmation of Justice Walter Onnoghen as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, and the nomination of an additional ambassadorial nominee, the Senate President maintained that Buhari was in good spirit.

The federal government on Thursday, February 9, blamed the rising prices of food items on officers and men of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police and Nigeria Customs Service at road blocks in the country, The Punch reports.

This follows allegations from farmers, who have continuously complained about being extorted while moving farm products to various locations, by officers who several mounts roadblocks.

Chief Audu Ogbeh, the minister of agriculture and rural development made this disclosure while speaking before the National Assembly to defend the 2017 budget of his ministry.

According to Ogbeh, farmers across the country had kicked against the move by the federal government to effect reduction in the prices of food items. This is as a result of high extortions they experience at road blocks.

While addressing the Senate and House of Representatives Joint Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development at the National Assembly, Ogbeh pointed out that one of the factors responsible for high cost of food prices in the country “is the daily unbearable extortions by men of the Nigeria Police, their counterpart in the Army and Customs Service of truck drivers conveying farm produce from the hinterlands to urban centres under the guise of carrying out security checks.”

He added: “These truck drivers, based on raw lamentations made to the ministry in recent time, alleged that at every checkpoint they are always forced to part with reasonable amount of money by any group of the security agencies, which they said, made farmers to have no option than to factor cost of extortion into prices of food items.”

Ogbeh further said, based on the complaints by the truck drivers, the ministry wrote the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and heads of the other security agencies to dissuade their operatives from the act “but daily reports available to the ministry still show that extortion continues unabated.”

The minister also cited high cost of Automobile General Oil, also known as diesel, which now sells for N300 per litre, as another factor responsible for the skyrocketing prices of food items in the country.
He stated that diesel consumption was inevitable since the trucks conveying farm produce were powered by diesel.

Meanwhile, the federal government says it has adopted some measures to reduce the price of food items.

Wickedness!! Man Rubs Hot Pepper On Wife’s Pants After Finding 2 Used Condoms In Her Bag

A husband from Zambia found a pair of used condoms in his wife’s handbag and decided to punish his unfaithful wife by rubbing hot chilli on his wife’s underwear.

Narrating her ordeal in a fully-packed court, Nellie Simambo, 30, of Matero Township in Lusaka tearfully recounted how the incident resulted in the swelling of her private parts.

She said her husband was always suspecting her of having extramarital affairs which led him to rubbing chilli into her underwear.

She added that her husband was also a violent man who beat her regularly for no apparent reason.

Nellie who has sued her husband for divorce explained that her husband recently tried to kill her in
her sleep, leaving her with a swollen neck.

She said her husband also slept with a knife in his pocket and always threatened to kill her.

“I am tired of this man and I am afraid if I continue staying with him he will kill me because he moves with a knife in his pocket,” she said.

Times of Zambia reports that in defence Smart Simambo told the court that his wife was having extra-marital affairs which were the source of the couple’s martial disputes.

He said when he found two used condoms in her handbag, he confronted her to explain how the condoms got into her bag.

Smart accused his wife of being disrespectful, insulting him in the presence of their children and sexually denying him.

“My wife has also denied me sex for the past five months and yet she has the audacity to come home with used condoms in her bag,” he said.

Magistrate Pauline Newa granted the couple divorce and ordered Smart to compensate Nellie with K8,000. Custody of the children was given to Nellie while Smart was ordered to provide K500 per month for their support.

See What Nigerian Soldier Did To Young Lady In Broad Daylight (See Photos)

 Below is how Jewel Infinity shared her story on social media;
A CRY OF HELP!

Please my good people of our nation, i am sincerely calling out for justice against violence. I am hospitalized right now as i type this with the lil stamina in me; i am in serious pain and agony; in between life and death. This is my story:

This morning, at about 11.50am, i boarded a siena vehicle leaving PortHarcourt for Onitsha. As we approached the first checkpoint immediately after the airport, we pulled over as the soldiers ordered us to, for the usual scrutinization.

One of them, the youngest of them, by name, SULAIMAN OLAMILEKAN, began to molest me. He accused me of discussing him, where i was only having a friendly debate with the lady beside me about whether his car is tinted or not because of the way the we where being delayed because the driver didn't bring the back glass down when he stopped us immediately he was like 'hey you wetin you just talk now' I explained to him that he was never in the picture of the gist but he ignored me and demanded i disembark from the vehicle, kneel down and apologise to him.

I called his bluff and explained to him that i did nothing wrong to apologise. To my greatest dismay, this dude went in search of any object at his disposal (a huge stick), and started hitting it all over my body. He shove me out of the vehicle and when he piecesed the stick on me he went in search of another thing and he came back with a big rod immediately I saw him coming with that one and I noticed everyone was already scared to come closer also his colleagues were just there busy with the stopping of other vehicles I ran out of the vehicle and jumped down wanted to run over to the other lane to where their ogas used to stay but on a second thought I sensed he might throw the big rod on me I then stood still not believing he could actually used that on me b4 I knew it he started hitting my two leg with it.

I was helpless as my fellow passengers were scared to intervene, the others (soldiers) disengaged him from hitting me further but they did not reprimand/reprove him. Instead, they confiscated my phone and prevented me from taking pictures of any of them my phone's screen is in pieces now. When i told them that i would nolonger proceed with the journey, they restrained me from going back to Portharcourt by compelling the driver to embark on our journey to (Onitsha) with me.

The driver drove off to some distance away from there, and i alighted from the vehicle and boarded another one heading back to Portharcourt. The passengers in the bus were astonished at the injuries i sustained from the brutality. They sympathized with me and advised me to take the matter up. Even the new driver confirmed Ola to be a ruthless soldier as he has had an encounter like that with him before.

As soon as we arrived Portharcour, i went straight to the Army Barracks to file a report about him. I narrated the whole story to them. The soldiers and the superiors there, were astonished at the cruel act and were sympathizing with me and pleaded that i shouldn't take the case any further; that the Ola dude would be remanded for one month in the barracks there (which i feel is not enough justice)they said he just joined then in the yr 2015

I was quickly attended to and was taken to their clinic for treatment. They summoned for Ola, the dude was very shocked that the case had gotten here already. To God be the glory, he confessed correctly that i didn't do anything to have warranted his cruel action that he was in a very bad mood He said what happened there was inexplicable. This time, he genuflected and implored for compassion. He took my number when I was giving it to the nurse for my admission at the hospital an whatsapped me to forgive him and not take things seriously. (This was how i tracked his identity on True caller.)

Right now i am bedridden. The doctor said i am running temperature due to my high blood pressure. I am in serious pain and rendered partially immoveable. How do i explain this uncomely incidence to my family in Onitsha whom i was supposed to meet with? Here are the pictures of what happened in the scene including the picture of the violator and the rod he used You can access him with his facebook addy, "Sulaiman Olamilekan".

Please Help! Help me reach out to anybody in authority, who can fight this violence. Violence is indeed a cankerworm that has eaten us deep into every fabric of the Nigerian Army Force. Soldiers fight and protect their own, not to destroy the innocent civilians'
