All set for 2016 Nigeria Teens Choice Awards in Abuja

– The 2016 Nigeria Teens Choice Awards (NTCA) is around the corner 

– The event is Africa’s biggest award ceremony for teens 

– It is a platform to encourage and empower teenagers in Nigeria 

There is excitement in the air as Africa’s foremost teens awards – The Nigeria Teens Choice Awards (NTCA) inches closer.


The awards are an avenue to recognise outstanding teens in Nigeria between the ages of 13-24 in different fields. 

The awards which is in its 5th year is the brain-child of young and vibrant entrepreneur, Nelson .E. Williams. 

Speaking to journalists in Abuja yesterday, July 7 on his plans for this year’s awards, Williams promised this year’s edition will be bigger and better that previous ones. 

According to him, more categories have been created to accommodate other sectors of the economy that were not recognised in the past. 

‘’We are trying to create new platform for the teens, like in sports and fashion. We are also organising five major pre-events leading up to the actual show this year,’’ Williams said. 

Responding to Naij.com’s enquiry about how past winners of the awards are being monitored to ensure their progress. 

Williams said: ‘’we have testimonials from all our past winners with their achievements well outlined. 

‘’We use our social platforms to connect past winners and also promote them and give them publicity. 

‘’We also support them by attending their events, give them recommendation letters when the need arises.’’ 

Popular Nigerian artistes like Seyi Shay, Lil Kesh, Davido, Praiz and others at have graced past editions of NTCA. 

Williams told journalists that there are plans to bring back most of the artistes who have performed over the years at NTCA and also invite acts like Wiz Kid, Burna Boy and Olamide. 

Last year’s awards witnessed the presence of Seyi Shay, Denrele Edun, Lil Kesh, Alex Ekubo, Praiz among others.
