Scofield Things: 35 Inmates Escape In Adamawa; 11 Re-Arrested
Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that 35 prison inmates were set free by yet to be identified gun men that struck in Maiha town early last friday.
''At the prison, 35 inmates were released, but 11 of them have been re-arrested'', he said. The Adamawa Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Ibrahim, also confirmed the attack and the killing of two individuals.
''We lost one of our men and a civilian', Ibrahim said.
Several vehicles and motorcycles parked at the affected areas, including those of Customs and Policemen were burnt.
also speakin, the Chairman of Maiha Local Government of Adamawa, Mallam Mohammed Jubrilla, said that gunmen came on foot and motorcycles.
He listed the Police Station, Prison Presidential Lodge, Area Court, District Head's offices, Local Education Authority and the Nigeria Customs Service offices as some of the affected public places.
